It is so unfortunate that last year, one of the Fraudulent withdrawal had happened . The Bank from which the money was withdrawn happens to be the FOURTH biggest Bank in the world, today. But .......
I Contacted Bank Immediately: As soon as I noticed the unauthorized withdrawal, contacted the bank or financial institution as they say, on Sundays too, most banks have a 24/7 customer service line for reporting fraud. They guided me on the next steps. The victim has to trace following steps:
Freeze the account, then and there. Depending on the severity of the fraud, ( god forbids) you too may have to freeze or close the affected account to prevent further unauthorized transactions.
Block all the cards, be it Debit or Credit cards as I had heard a lot about the same. But seldom did I know that such false proclamations flashed on the T.V. screen are merely to misguide the ignorant citizens and once the amount is withdrawn , hardly is the amount remitted to your account.

Your bank will likely ask you to file a fraud report or dispute the unauthorized transactions. Provide them with all the necessary information and documentation regarding the fraudulent activity.
I too went to the Cyber Crime Office . With lots of difficulty, they accepted to file the case. They gave me a file number to be given to the Bank. The Bank tried to trace the transaction. They even found the Bank Account in which my money was credited to , but.......the bank to which the money was credited from my account, to my dismay, was none other than a National Bank but the Bank fails to remit the amount even after almost one year, the Cyber Crime has given up their hopes .

You may want to consider placing a fraud alert on your credit reports or even freezing your credit to prevent the fraudster from opening new accounts in your name.
If the fraud is significant, consider filing a police report. This can be useful if you need to prove that you were a victim of identity theft.
Maintain records of all your communications with the bank and any other relevant parties. This includes dates, times, names of bank representatives, and any case numbers or reference numbers provided.
Regularly review your bank statements and credit reports to ensure that no new unauthorized transactions or accounts appear.
Going forward, be cautious about sharing your personal and financial information online and offline. Protect your account information and use strong, unique passwords for online banking.

Anyhow, I left no stone unturned. The Bank kept blaming the Cyber Crime Department and vise versa. In this pursuit, I have not received the amount to date. Though I did not share any OTP or password nevertheless the Bank neatly blames me for being careless.
Also, I lodged a complaint on the RBI portal. All in vain,,,, I often wonder, are the banks actually safe???Is a the hard earned money, saved in the bank , safe??
Had it been for the same case in abroad, the amount would have been remitted to the Bank Account of the victim, then and there and then would have started the investigation.
Just brood and be careful, is the money safe??????
